Automatic solar panel production line, for the first time in Iran

This CNC line was designed and manufactured for the first time in the country, commissioned by one of the developing subsidiaries of MAPNA Group named “Atieh Clean Energy Production Industries Company” (a manufacturer of various types of solar panels).

Various technologies were used in this machine, briefly mentioned as follows:

1. Integrated machine control using Siemens S7-1200 PLC.

2. Temperature measurement using PT100 platinum sensors.

3. Bed vacuum generation using high-flow side channel blower.

4. Engineered aluminum structure.

5. Local vacuum generation for picking up solar cells using Festo venturi valves.

6. Linear and rotary motion achieved by three servo motors.

7. Pneumatic linear and rotary actuators for pick-and-place positions.

8. Bed heating and one-tenth-degree temperature control using electric heating elements and PLC control.

9. Wafer surface heating using IR lamps controlled by a power controller.

10. Extensive use of LM guide systems to facilitate precise, repeatable positioning.

Infrared Soldering Module

By forming a specialized team and conducting, recording, and monitoring over 500 soldering parameter tests, this was extracted and accomplished as a knowledge-based activity.

Traffic and Complexity of the Machine Bottleneck

The cell placement area, including cutting, pressing, and positioning of tin-coated copper ribbons using pneumatic grippers, and finally pressing and soldering the assembly with an accuracy of 0.1 mm.

Maximum Utilization of Domestic Industry Capabilities

Many of the components used in the machine are high-quality domestic products, including three-phase electric motors from the Motogen and Electrogen brands and worm gearboxes from Saahand Company in the ribbon unwinding module, as well as pneumatic cylinders from Pars Pneumatic Company in the string take-up module.

Ultimately, this line, with the capability of automatic soldering of 600 cells per hour, in addition to increasing production quality and speed, saved 8 operators per shift for the employer, thereby enhancing the competitive power of this domestic industry.
